Hard Rock Cafe Edinburgh!

It's Friday night. This seems like a good enough reason to get the kids out of the house and go out to eat. So, we headed to Princes Street and walked up to the Hard Rock Cafe. The girls love to look into music stores and talk about buying pink guitars. And, most of the times when we walk somewhere Katie and Dani are both singing songs that they make. What's really fun is when Dani sings one of her rambling songs and then asks Cole or Cindy to then sing it back to her. All that to say, that the Hard Rock Cafe seemed like the perfect place to take them!

We thought they would love to see all the music paraphernalia, watch music videos, and listen to music. However, it didn't quite turn out the way we hoped. It was COLD outside. We didn't insist on the kids wearing heavy jackets, because we figured we wouldn't actually be outside very much. Oops. The walks to and from the bus stop were a little longer than we expected. And, the wind was blowing! Poor Katie was miserably cold, so she got to wear my jacket. Dani had to go potty while we were walking to the restaurant. So, we ducked into a Hugo Boss store where they were gracious enough to let us in their bathroom (or Loo). The whole time I was trying to make sure the kids didn't touch anything! I was a little nervous.

In the restaurant, we had two Nessie pens for them to play with, but not three. This created a problem. So, Katie got to play Sparkle (aka Shiny to the younger girls) on my iPod. Then, when Cole tried to take the kids around to look at things Claire threw a FIT because Daddy left her.

All in all it was a good night out. Other than Claire getting upset when Cole left the table, the girls behaved really well. The food was good and the girls ate most of what they got. The girls all got balloons which made the walk back to the bus rather entertaining! It just wasn't quite the rock n roll kind of experience that we were expecting. The girls weren't impressed with Elvis, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, or even Bon Jovi.  Then again, life with kids is seldom what you expect, right?
