Kismot Indian and Bangladeshi Restaurant

Our first day in Edinburgh, we were tired and hungry. Knowing that there are a plethora of Indian restaurants in the UK and the lack of such restaurants in Gainesville, we just had to go to an Indian restaurant that first evening. Cole found one not too far from our flat.

They welcomed us with smiles even though we were walking into restaurant with 3 small children! They even turned the TV to Cbeebies, an educational British children's show. We really enjoyed the food and were looking forward to returning.

After about 2 weeks, we made our way back there for dinner. We saw our waiter on the street and he remembered us. He immediately put the Cbeebies on the TV for us. He told us that they just had new menus printed and in a week they will roll it out with new dishes such as marshmallow naan. Of course Katie was miffed that she wasn't allowed to order that naan straight away!!!

We told him that it is difficult to get the girls to eat much Indian food other than naan and rice. So, he had his parents prepare a special meal for Katie and Dani. After prying them away from the TV, they ate some of their food and Dani even exclaimed that it was yummy.

This is such a wonderful restaurant that we just had to write about it! Great service! Wonderful people! Just awesome! (Or should I say "Cool" or "brilliant"?) We can't wait to try out some of their new dishes. So far we've absolutely loved everything we've tried. And, we think it's fun that this restaurant is known for thinking outside the box with their recipes. They've got really great traditional foods, but they aren't afraid to experiment! They also have the Kismot Killer! A dish so hot that you get your meal free if you are able to complete it all by yourself. But first, you must sign a disclaimer!!!

You can check them out online and even on Facebook:
